Pupil Premium

Pupil premium is funding to improve education outcomes for disadvantaged pupils in schools in England. Evidence shows that disadvantaged children generally face additional challenges in reaching their potential at school and often do not perform as well as other pupils.

Pupil Premium funding is vital in helping us narrow the gap and achieve the best possible outcomes for our pupils.

The way the funding is used can be decided by individual schools and may include the below areas:

1. Targeted academic support

Additional support for some pupils focussed on their specific needs, for example:

  • one-to-one tuition
  • small group tuition
  • speech and language therapy

2. Wider approaches

Support for non-academic issues that impact success in school, such as attendance, behaviour and social and emotional challenges. For example:

  • counselling to support emotional health and wellbeing
  • help with the cost of educational trips or visits

If you think your child may be eligible for funding but is not currently receiving this payment, please contact the school office who will be able to explain the easy application process.

Mrs Wilmot has responsibility for planning, monitoring and evaluating the use of the Pupil Premium funding, if you have any queries or concerns she will be happy to talk to you. Please contact her via info@hinchleywoodprimary.co.uk to arrange an appointment.
