Cycling Proficiency Training
Cycling proficiency course (now called Bikeability level 2 training) will be on Monday 10th – Friday 14th June – Course 1 or Monday 24th – Friday 28th June – Course 2
We are pleased that we have been able to organise for the year 6 children to do their cycling proficiency course (now called Bikeability level 2 training). The purpose of the training is to teach the basic skills for cycling on the road. As this is a road-based course it is important that your child has good control of the bike.
The courses will run at 9.00–10.30am, 10.45-12.15pm and 1.15-2.45pm. There will be a maximum of 10 children in a group with 2 instructors. The children will be allocated to a course once we have received all the replies and we shall let you know which dates they will need to bring in their bikes.
The cost of the course is £30 per child. The course will be for 5 days with instruction being given each day ending with a final assessment. The training will take place on quieter roads in the vicinity of the school. The qualified instructors will teach your child the correct way to cycle on roads with emphasis put on observation, hand signals and correct position on the road.
